Registrations Open for Fourth Annual 4K 4Charity Fun Run at 2018 NAB Show
Media and Entertainment Industry Charity Event to Support Girls Who Code and FIRST Nevada
Portland, Ore. – February 12, 2018 – AWS Elemental, an Amazon Web Services company, today announced the next event in the 4K 4Charity Fun Run series, to take place Tuesday, April 10 in Las Vegas in conjunction with the 2018 NAB Show. Sponsorships are still available and participants may register at http://4K4Charity.com/runs/nab.
In 2017, the 4K 4Charity Fun Run series committed to distributing proceeds toward raising awareness and funding for organizations that work in support of increased diversity and inclusion. That commitment continues this year, with funds from the 2018 NAB Show event devoted to Girls Who Code, a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does, and FIRST Nevada, a local non-profit that inspires young people through mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills.
“The 4K 4Charity Fun Run is a beloved NAB Show tradition and a unique opportunity for industry professionals to come together in support of worthy non-profits and enjoy an energizing departure from the exhibit floor,” said Chris Brown, executive vice president, conventions and business operations at NAB Show. “We are pleased to support 4K 4Charity and excited to help the media and entertainment industry give back to the important cause of diversity and inclusion.”
Sponsors for the 4K 4Charity Fun Run include industry leaders Aspera, an IBM company, AWS Elemental, Ooyala, Dolby Laboratories, Irdeto, Brightcove Inc., Planar, a Leyard company, ChyronHego Corporation, Sports Video Group, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), and media sponsors NewBay Media and Rapid TV News. The deadline for sponsorship commitments is February 23. Inquiries may be directed to Kate Incerto at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Last year, the 4K 4Charity Fun Run series added a fourth annual event while setting new benchmarks for fundraising, sponsorship, and participation,” said Laura Barber of AWS Elemental and co-founder of the series. “That positions us well to make an even bigger impact for non-profit organizations that advance the vital cause of diversity and inclusion as we start the new year. We are delighted and grateful to kick off the Fun Run series for 2018 in Las Vegas as the official running event for the NAB Show.”
The 4km (2.49 mile) running and walking event begins at 7:30 a.m. and circles scenic Sunset Park. Complimentary bus transportation will be provided to and from select NAB Show hotels and Sunset Park with seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis. After completing the course, participants can celebrate over light snacks and beverages. For more information, please visit http://4K4Charity.com/runs/nab.
