Elemental Accelerator Version 2.1 Adds MPEG-2 Support to Speed Video Encoding for Creative Profeesionals
Elemental™ Accelerator Expands Encoding Support to Include MPEG-2 in Continued Effort to Leverage the Massively Parallel Processing Power of NVIDIA® Quadro® GPUs
Portland, Ore., — August 24, 2009 — Elemental Technologies, the leading provider of massively parallel video processing solutions, today announced the availability of Elemental™ Accelerator 2.1, an important update to its groundbreaking NVIDIA® CUDA®-architecture based, GPU-accelerated video processing tool for creative professionals. With Elemental Accelerator 2.1, users now have the ability to create GPU-accelerated MPEG-2 output files and have access to an expanded suite of conforming H.264 presets.
Elemental Accelerator is a plug-in for Adobe® Premiere® Pro CS4 that harnesses the CUDA parallel computing architecture of NVIDIA® Quadro FX® GPUs to dramatically speed video decoding, processing and encoding, as compared to CPU-only solutions. Elemental Accelerator is easy to access through the Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 application interface and integrates seamlessly with existing workflows.
Elemental Accelerator MPEG-2 encoding allows video professionals to render and encode video for DVD media or digital broadcast with high-quality HD or SD output. Users have the option to select from a variety of DVD or high-definition Blu-ray compliant presets or to customize their own output settings —including resolution, frame rate and target bitrate.
This update to Elemental Accelerator also offers an expanded set of H.264 presets for a variety of target applications, including presets designed specifically for Apple mobile devices and for YouTube standard and high definition formats.
“One of the many challenges video professionals face today is supporting multiple formats,” said Andy Beach, VP of Marketing at Elemental Technologies. “With the addition of MPEG-2 and expanded H.264 support, users can now utilize the power of Elemental Accelerator in more of their daily workflow than ever before.”
Elemental Accelerator 2.1 runs exclusively with the latest generation of NVIDIA Quadro FX family of GPUs; including those designed for ultra high-end (Quadro FX 4800 and FX 5800), high-end (Quadro FX 3800) and mid-range (Quadro FX 1800) desktop platforms, as well as for mobile workstations (Quadro FX 3700M and Quadro FX 2700M).
Elemental Accelerator is available bundled with supported Quadro FX GPUs through NVIDIA distribution channels and directly from HP with its line of professional workstations. It is also available as a standalone package for $499 from Nvidia’s Adobe Plug-in solutions page (http://www.nvidia.com/adobeplugins).
For current Accelerator customers, v2.1 is available as a free upgrade.
