As we approach the next major release of our video processing plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Elemental is retiring the product name RapiHD in favor of Elemental Accelerator. New users will see this more descriptive name and a revamped product logo when purchasing Elemental Accelerator bundled with select Nvidia Quadro video cards. Existing users will see the name change and new artwork when next updating to the latest product release. With this name change, you can now look to Elemental Accelerator to improve your Premiere Pro workflow on either the Mac or PC platform. Stay tuned for more information about the availability of Elemental Accelerator in coming weeks. In the meantime, you can learn more about what’s coming by visiting the Accelerator product page at: http://www.elementaltechnologies.com/products/accelerator.

Jeff Brown, the General Manager of the Professional Solutions Group at Nvidia, discusses the benefits of parallel processing and the fit between Adobe's Creative Suite applications and Nvidia Quadro CX hardware. Brown highlights the fast H.264 encoding Elemental Accelerator performs on the GPU as compared to the standard CPU-only encoder. You can watch the video here.

In addition, a hands-on Premiere Pro demonstration and head-to-head speed match-up between Elemental Accelerator and the standard CPU-only encoder is featured in this video presented by Sean Kilbride of Nvidia Technical Marketing. In this demonstration, it's easy to see exactly how Elemental Accelerator saves valuable time for video professionals performing H.264 video encoding as a part of their worfkflow.

In his review of the Quadro CX for CG Channel, Jason Lewis calls out the benefits of Elemental Accelerator and notes it is the feature that makes the card really shine. He highly recommends it for video professionals for whom time is money and super-fast encoding speeds are essential. Check out his article here. Following are some of the highlights!

“To the high-end professional who depends on fast and stable hardware to get the job done, this card is definitely worth every penny.”

“In the newest version of Premiere, there is only one feature that is accelerated with the Quadro CX card, but it is in that feature that the CX card really shines. High Definition video encoding (H.264) is what this card is really meant to do, and this feature is only accelerated with the Quadro CX.”

“This plugin basically offloads all the encoding calculations done when exporting H.264 HD media to the video cards GPU and is then exported a lot faster than encoding with the system CPU.”
